Abstract

Complicated grief treatment (CGT) is a new psychotherapy for complicated grief disorder combining strategies from interpersonal therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, self- compassion training and motivational interviewing. The aim of the present study was to examine the effectivness of complicated grief treatment on complicated grief symptoms in patients with complicated grief disorder (CGD). This research was administrated in a multiple baseline single subject design framework. Four patients (female, ages 20-42) with CGD were selected through available sampling. To collect data inventory of Prigerson and Jacobs (ICG-R) was administered during baseline, during treatment at sessions 4, 8 and 12, and at 2-month follow-up. The visual inspection of charts and descriptive statistics index indicated significant decrease in complicated grief symptoms of participants. These preliminary findings provided support for the role of CGT in reducing complicated grief symptoms in Patients with CGD.

Abstract

Purpose: This research administrated with the goal of studying the trend of changes in marital satisfaction, sexual satisfaction and subjective well-being in the first 5 years of marital life. Method: So, 200 married women of Sari City aged 40-16 years were selected using convenience sampling. They answered to the scales The Index of Sexual Satisfaction-short‐form, Relationship Assessment scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, and Oxford Happiness Questionnaire-short form. Results: The results indicated that marital satisfaction and sexual satisfaction decreased by linear trend in the first five years of married life, while life satisfaction and happiness decreased by quadratic nonlinear in the first three years of marital life of women, then gradually increases. Conclusion: Focus on the underlying causes of marital satisfaction and sexual satisfaction can guarantee to increase life satisfaction and happiness and lead to continuation of marriage in later years of the couple's life.

Abstract

Introduction: Economic and family conditions are one of the most important factors affecting the mental health of the child.
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of family and economic factors on hyperactivity and attention deficit (ADHD) symptoms in children aged 11-6 years.
Method: To investigate the aim of the research, qualitative research method was used. Therefore, 13 mothers of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were selected by semi-structured interviews and then the data were analyzed by the method of content analysis.
Results: The results of the research in the qualitative section led to the identification of four sub categories and two main categories.
Conclusion: The results showed that the family of children with ADHD have low income, inadequate living space, lack of a child's room, low level of education, lack of awareness about child's disorder and single/multi parent. These factors may increase the symptoms of ADHD.
It is suggested that therapists pay attention to stressful factors such as economic and family conditions in the treatment of children with ADHD.

Abstract

Aim: In each period of life, a person has special relationships with others, and these relationships can enhance one's personal and social health or bring psychological harm. Adaptability, which is one of the most important signs of mental health in teenagers, can lead to psychological maladjustment under mental stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between frustration tolerance and approval motivation with emotional adjustment of female students. Methods: The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population included all third-grade high school students in 6th district of Tehran studying during the academic year 1397-98. The research sample consisted of 200 female students who were selected via cluster random sampling method. The tools used in this study were Harrington's Frustration Tolerance Questionnaire (2005), Trinity Patients Approval Motivation (1991), and Sinn and Singh's (1993) Students' Emotional Adjustment Scale. Findings: Pearson correlation and multicollinearity regression methods were used to analyze the data. Findings showed that there was a significant relationship between frustration tolerance, and approval motivation with emotional adjustment. Also, the variables of frustration tolerance and approval motivation could predict emotional adjustment. Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, reinforcement of the approval motivation and frustration tolerance can be effective in education of the  students with high emotional adaptability.

Abstract

Aim: The present research intended to investigate the outcomes of death awareness in life from the perspective of Iranian adolescents. Methods: The study employed a phenomenological qualitative approach. The participants included 26 male and female high school students aged 16 to 18 going to schools in Tehran province, who were selected through criterion purposive sampling method. To collect data, semi-structured interviews were utilized. In order to analyze the data, thematic analysis (TA) technique was used. Findings: The findings demonstrated that the consequences of death awareness in adolescents' lives can be categorized in five main dimensions: motivation and goals, feelings, behaviors, interpersonal and social, and worldview. Conclusions: Death-consciousness can overshadow various aspects of a teenager's life, and is therefore an important and fundamental issue. Each of these themes shows the effects of death awareness on different aspects of adolescence life and indicate that the remembrance of death can affect various dimensions of adolescent life in different ways. It can also change the adolescents' life style and their attitudes towards themselves and the world. In other words, to adolescents, who are at the beginning of planning their future lives, death awareness can act as a beacon and help shape their future plans and paths.

Abstract

Aim: The Covid Pandemic has 19 different psychological effects such as stress, anxiety, fear, etc., and various family consequences on employed people. This study was designed and conducted to identify the psychological consequences and family challenges caused by coronary conditions in employed people. Methods: This study was conducted with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method. The statistical population was employed people in Tehran in 1399, which included criteria such as having worked in that job for a year and working in governmental, non-governmental, service, health, freelance and .... organizations. The statistical sample includes 16 people who were purposefully and accessibly selected. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect information. claizi's descriptive phenomenological approach was used to analyze the data. Results: The findings of this study were identified in the form of main categories and sub-categories. In reviewing the results from the 3 general questions extracted from the research, 16 main categories of negative emotions, occupation, recreation, vitality, order, stress, care, opportunity, education, communication and physical problems, negative impact, tolerance, positive impact, no problem And telecommuting was achieved. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the corona virus pandemic in Iran is a new and unpredictable experience for all people that has negative and different psychological effects on the working community. Therefore, it is suggested that psychological interventions be performed to improve mental health and reduce the psychological consequences of the working community.

Abstract

Aim: The current study was done with the aim of investigating the role of marital virtues in promoting well-being and coping with marital burnout of married men and women living in Tehran. The research method is descriptive and correlation. Methods: For this purpose, 290 married people (152 women and 138 men) were selected through convenient sampling. For data collection, the researcher-made Marital Virtues Scale, the Well-being Scale WHO-5 (2012), and Marital Burnout Scale (Pines, 1996) were administrated. Data were analyzed using correlation and stepwise regression tests.  Results: The findings showed that there was a significant positive correlation between all marital virtues’ subscales and the well-being and there was a negative significant correlation between all marital virtues’ subscales and marital burnout. Also, the results showed the virtues of fairness, tolerance, love, and empathy can explain 13% of the variance of well-being (F=14.68, p <.001) and the virtues of fairness, foresight and precaution, love, and empathy can explain 33% of the variance of marital burnout (F=47.06, p <.001). Conclusion: The cultivation of moral virtues over time can predict well-being in couples and could be considered as a strategy to deal with marital burnout.
