هدف: هدف پژوهش بررسی نقش میانجی انطباق‌پذیری مسیر‌شغلی در رابطه هوش هیجانی با مشکلات تصمیم‌گیری مسیر‌شغلی در دانش‌آموزان پایه نهم بود. روش: این پژوهش از نوع پژوهش‌های همبستگی بود که با استفاده از مدلیابی معادلات ساختاری انجام شد. جامعه آماری شامل دانش‌آموزان پایه نهم استان قزوین در سال تحصیلی 95-96 بودند. نمونه شامل 433 دانش‌آموز (206 پسر و 227 دختر) بود که به روش نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای تصادفی چندمرحله‌ای انتخاب شدند. ابزارها شامل مقیاس انطباق‌پذیری مسیر‌شغلی، سیاهه هوش هیجانی بار-ان و پرسشنامه مشکلات تصمیم‌گیری مسیر‌شغلی بود. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون‌های ضریب همبستگی پیرسون و مدلیابی معادلات ساختاری تجزیه‌وتحلیل شدند. یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که از مجموع  67/0- اثر هوش هیجانی بر مشکلات تصمیم‌گیری مسیر‌شغلی بیشتر آن  به‌صورت غیرمستقیم و با میانجی‌گری انطباق‌پذیری مسیر‌شغلی (41/0-=β؛ 001/0>p) و بخشی از آن‌هم به‌صورت مستقیم (26/0-=β؛ 001/0>p) بوده است. مدل مفهومی برازش معناداری با داده‌ها نشان داد (03/0=SRMR؛ 06/0=RMSEA). نتایج مقایسه برازش کلی و ضرایب مسیر در دختران و پسران نیز نشان داد که مدل پژوهش در هر دو گروه به‌صورت یکسان عمل می‌کند (11/0<p). نتیجه‌گیری: همسو با مدل انطباق یابی مسیر‌شغلی نتایج این پژوهش نشان دادبخش عمده‌ای از اثر فرا قابلیت‌های اجتماعی و هیجانی در کاهش ناسازگاری پاسخ‌های انطباقی مسیر‌شغلی به‌واسطه بسیج کردن منابع روانی اجتماعی در مدیریت وظایف، گذارها و بحران‌های مسیر‌شغلی قابل تبیین است.
